Peace! Peace!

The storm was wild; the winds were severe
The water was angry and deep
And yet in the back of the boat was a man
Just lying there fast asleep
And while he slept, his friends lived in fear
Their faith giving way to despair
The men, overwhelmed like the boat they were in
Cried “Teacher, why don’t you care?”
Peace! Peace! Jesus is with you
Be still! He is here
Peace! Peace! Jesus is with you
Yes! Jesus is here
The man awoke, called out to the storm
“Be quiet! Be still as can be”
At once, the wind died and the water was calm
God’s peace on Lake Galilee
Who is this man, that at his command
The wind and the waves must obey?
So why be afraid? Put your hand in his hand
For Jesus is here today
