Jonah

God said to Jonah
"Would you send for me
A message to some people
Far across the sea?"
But Jonah said "No way
I don't want to play today"
Then he wondered what God would do

So God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
And God said "Jonah, won't you follow me again"
God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
"Jonah, won't you follow me again"

Now Jonah realised that the stormy sea
Was all because he had a plan to run and flee
So he jumped out of the boat
Even though he couldn't float
And he wondered what God would do

So God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
And God said "Jonah, won't you follow me again"
God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
"Jonah, won't you follow me again"

Then along came a fish
Who though Jonah looked a dish
When he opened his mouth wide
Jonah slipped inside
As the whale began to sink
Jonah had some time to think
And he wondered what God would do

So God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
And God said "Jonah, won't you follow me again"
God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
"Jonah, won't you follow me again"

It was soggy, dark and smelly
Deep inside the whale's belly
Where Jonah said a prayer, saying
"God, I know you care
I was sinking in the sea
And you came and rescued me
I wondered what you would do"

So God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
And God said "Jonah, won't you follow me again"
God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
"Jonah, won't you follow me again"

The whale spat upon the shore
And Jonah followed God once more
The people heard God's message
Down in Nineveh
They were a pretty nasty lot
To do what's right they'd long forgot
And yet, when they said "sorry"
He forgave them

So God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
And God said "Jonah, won't you follow me again"
God sent the wind, and God sent the rain
"Jonah, won't you follow me again"
