Good Samaritan
Once a traveller walked along a dusty road
A band of robbers the traveller did spy
They jumped upon him
Robbed him of his money bag
Left the traveller by the dusty roadside
Bruised and bleeding, "Help me" pleading
"My body's aching, my mouth is dry
I'm hurting and I'm all alone
Lying here in the midday sun
Please don't leave me here" he cried
Down the road came a Pharisee, a holy man
On a journey to the synagogue to pray
He saw the traveller lying by the dusty road
He mumbled nothing and hurried on his way
Some time later along the road there came a judge
A most important man in his town
He saw the traveller lying by the dusty road
He walked on by and didn't look down
Then came by a stranger from a far-off country
Gave him water and held his hand
On his donkey he brhim him to a small hotel
Bought a room for the poor, hurting man
Told the landlord "Feed him please, and comfort him
Keep him there 'til he's on the mend"
Which of these three, the stranger, judge or the Pharisee
Was the best neighbour, the best friend
Which of these three, the stranger, judge or the Pharisee
Was the best neighbour, the best friend
